If you’ve ever built a system in Java, Python, or C#, you’ve probably reused primitive types for things they weren’t really meant for. Maybe you stored a user ID as an int, or a currency amount as a float.
It works — until you mix them up. Suddenly, your code accepts an OrderId where it expected a UserId. Or worse, you accidentally subtract USD from EUR. The compiler doesn’t care.

The first thing important to know before talking about the plausibility of fiction is that any art is a separate communication system and in order to understand it one needs to be familiar with its language. Systems used in various fields of art impose content restrictions on the works of art. People accept these restrictions as something given, and they acquire the appearance of “natural” unconditional norms.

- Dal gruppo di persone, che intanto prosegue verso le tombe successive, si stacca una donna. Si ferma davanti a una tomba molto più anonima, quasi dimessa. È l’unica del gruppo a sostare; gli altri proseguono. Rimane in contemplazione il tempo di tre minuti.
- L’indicazione riporta il nome di un generale: ma anche “cartografo, imprenditore, umanitario, urbanista, uomo di Stato e, infine, uomo di Pace”.
- Un sogno in cui, oltre al sé, scompare anche l’unicità di chi scrive. L’opera di un autore o di un’autrice si inserisce in un filone più generale che supera la sua biografia individuale, come avviene in una foresta, dove le radici si intrecciano sotto terra e scambiano linfa e segnali.
